Failure to rescue: at sea or in public offices, it is always a matter of life for migrants

The landings, rescues, failure to rescue and deaths at sea of migrants have catalysed media attention for years, even in these hours of heated debate on the forced transfer to centres in Albania. However, migrants living in Italy also experience forms of legislative and bureaucratic ‘hit-and-runs’ that seriously harm their already difficult living conditions, often compromising their stay and future.

These issues are also addressed in the Dossier Statistico Immigrazione 2024, published by IDOS, whose national presentation will take place on 29 October, at 10.30 a.m., in Rome (at Teatro Orione) and, at the same time, in all Italian regions and autonomous provinces.
