Now in its tenth edition and featuring a redesigned cover and updated documentary sheets, the Geopolitical Atlas of the Mediterranean 2024 analyzes and describes the political, economic, and social situation of the eleven countries along the southern shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It also examines the evolving political landscape in light of the renewed outbreak of the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict and the growing interests of China, Russia, and the Gulf Monarchies in the region.
The volume is structured into three sections:
- The first section features essays by Bruna Bagnato, Luca Riccardi, and Antonio Varsori, offering a historical perspective on Italy’s Mediterranean foreign policy from the post-World War II era to the present.
- The second section consists of eleven historical and geopolitical profiles, each dedicated to a country on the southern Mediterranean coast.
- The final section, “Mediterranean Dialogues,” presents three essays focusing on Italy’s relations with three key countries in the region: Libya, Algeria, and Tunisia.
